A long-running personal blog shared by two authors with completely different approaches to life. And a lot of large, beautiful photographs of dogs and nature and places we've traveled to. Rich in commentary and irreverant in style.

Blog

We started blogging a long time ago. Our work hours never aligned with recommended psychotherapists and we needed to get our thoughts out. We are great friends, total opposites and long-time housemates. This was a way to communicate. With each other. With strangers. With consumer marketers. With sub-par meteorologists. With distant friends who wanted to see pictures of stuff we were up to.

This is the place. Our bucket of thoughts to share. You are welcome.
(We realize that most of you are here for the dog pictures.)

Q: What is the best thing to happen to you this week? (Healey)

Healey

This is hard, the quick answer is AIR CONDITIONING. Cause damn! I keep trying to decide if Death Valley would feel worse than this 101 degree heat with 9,000 % humidity. I've been in Vegas in 113 degree weather and it wasn't that bad. This is tough. Enough about my suffering.

Okay, the best thing to happen to me this week would have to be a tie between the roasted lamb at Shaya and the electric car I rented.

The lamb was life changing for both the lamb ... and me.

I was very happy to have found the street legal golf carts since it was a billion degrees out and it seemed totally unsafe. The bloody trollies that we bought passes for didn't run along the MAJOR ARTERY on a major holiday. That blows. So this helped us bypass the hoofing it and get straight to the dumb shops and tourist attractions I wanted to see. Plus the roads here are total crap so it was a little like off-roading. I even let my son learn how to reverse out of parking spots at the Walgreens. But the blinker drove us all nuts and we used so much of the charge driving like maniacs that we had to return to home base half way through the rental to get fresh vehicle.

If you have the means, I recommend it.
