Crofton, MD, 21114

A long-running personal blog shared by two authors with completely different approaches to life. And a lot of large, beautiful photographs of dogs and nature and places we've traveled to. Rich in commentary and irreverant in style.

We started blogging a long time ago. Our work hours never aligned with recommended psychotherapists and we needed to get our thoughts out. We are great friends, total opposites and long-time housemates. This was a way to communicate. With each other. With strangers. With consumer marketers. With sub-par meteorologists. With distant friends who wanted to see pictures of stuff we were up to.

This is the place. Our bucket of thoughts to share. You are welcome.
(We realize that most of you are here for the dog pictures.)

We can't have the same perspective

NaBloPoMo Theme of the Day: Do you think it's possible to ever truly see the world from another person's perspective, or are we held so tightly to our own way of viewing the world?

I don’t think you can. Not totally at least. You can’t ever fully understand another person’s perspective. You can empathize; you can attempt to see your version of their perspective. But I don’t think you can ever truly line the two up.

But that is the game… isn’t it? The reason why people are drawn to one another? It’s to see how closely your cards match up with the other players, right? To find the similarities.

“You love Corn Nuts, too????? OMG!”

“You’re scared of other people's babies, too???? Afraid you may drop and kill them or that they will throw up all over you like a fire hose… at the beginning of a party …and you’ll be the lady in the really wet wool sweater that is now speckled with other people's semi-digested food. OMG!! Me too!”

Babies scare me. And they scare you, too... admit it.
