A long-running personal blog shared by two authors with completely different approaches to life. And a lot of large, beautiful photographs of dogs and nature and places we've traveled to. Rich in commentary and irreverant in style.

Blog

We started blogging a long time ago. Our work hours never aligned with recommended psychotherapists and we needed to get our thoughts out. We are great friends, total opposites and long-time housemates. This was a way to communicate. With each other. With strangers. With consumer marketers. With sub-par meteorologists. With distant friends who wanted to see pictures of stuff we were up to.

This is the place. Our bucket of thoughts to share. You are welcome.
(We realize that most of you are here for the dog pictures.)

Random Thoughts...

Yenny

I have been at a lack of blog-able topics.  Not that I don't have a lot to say, but nothing that will take up enough space to make it an interesting read.  I've decided instead of trying to stretch one, I'll just make it a hodge-podge of random thoughts.

Powerball Time... $220 Million is enough...Maybe

I have a love-hate relationship with the lottery.  I love to play, but I hate that I haven't won.  Win the big one, not $1 or $2 returns though at this point, a win is a win.  I play because I believe I will win.  I mean, REALLY believe to the point that I have created my pyramid of friends for distribution and opened multiple bank accounts so that when the day happens, I'll already know who gets what and where my money will be stored and invested.

I just don't have that sad SAD story. The one where I buy the lottery ticket with my last dollar; where I was fired and it was my last dollar after being on unemployment and I went to get milk and bought the ticket on a last hope.

Or I'm on my way to work after working 10 straight days, stop at 7-11 for coffee and a ticket and find out that I'm a winner on my way home.

Google Plus

Google Plus is the new shiny thing that everybody wants to be a part of this summer but not everyone can. Well, not until 2 weeks ago when everybody got unlimited invites.  Nobody is exactly sure why it'll be better, but it's Google, so everybody wants to be a part of it, especially me.  If Google built homes, I would take every penny I had and buy one.

So far so good. I like all the built in features like having hangouts and Picassa integration.  I hope it makes like GTalk and GMail.  OHHH and my fancy new phone Droid 3 automatically syncs the images to my account, so it's one less thing for me to do.

Greed

I like to say that I'm a conservative investor, but I'm not always.  I try to setup a plan with targets and do the hold and wait method to meet my target.  This year though, I got greedy.  I saw the market doing the recovery thing and didn't sell when stocks hit their target prices.  Figure that it would keep going for a few more months.  Now it's back to its 2010 numbers. I don't know if I would have stayed that cash liquid, but it doesn't matter because I can't access the money for another 30 years.  Just hope by then, it will have rebounded.

Tapeworm

There are days that I could eat nonstop and still not be full leads me to believe that I could have a tapeworm. I know that this isn't the definition or actually medical diagnosis, but it makes me feel better when I eat everything I can find in the house.  It's my tapeworm's fault.

Fancy New Phone

I finally upgraded to a new phone.  It was a long wait for the perfect new phone. I left the Blackberry world for the Android world.  I now have a Droid 3, but my biggest problem is I don't have a convenient phone/wallet solution like I did for my BB.

For the first 2 days, I carried it in this fancy sunglass case inside of my PSP case.  A solution thanks to my roommie.  Not crash-proof, but keeps me concious of the phone so I don't drop it or forget my credit card and license.  A case finally arrived for it, so I downgraded to just the sunglass case, but still not as convenient as my credit card holder, but so far, haven't forgotten either one at any of my travel locations. Lesson learned is that having devices before it officially launches makes you super awesome with your geek friends, but makes it hard to protect because nobody has sufficient supplies to keep you from destroying your new toy.
