A long-running personal blog shared by two authors with completely different approaches to life. And a lot of large, beautiful photographs of dogs and nature and places we've traveled to. Rich in commentary and irreverant in style.

We started blogging a long time ago. Our work hours never aligned with recommended psychotherapists and we needed to get our thoughts out. We are great friends, total opposites and long-time housemates. This was a way to communicate. With each other. With strangers. With consumer marketers. With sub-par meteorologists. With distant friends who wanted to see pictures of stuff we were up to.

This is the place. Our bucket of thoughts to share. You are welcome.
(We realize that most of you are here for the dog pictures.)

Those Pricks from Hollywood...

James Garner, you know, the actor, star of the TV series Maverick, proves that I can have goofy opinions of people. I just saw a thing on him on Turner Classic Movies.... by the guy who walks funny, Robert Osborne. He interviewed him for about forty five minutes. Garner is a superb actor and a great interview. Ya, ya...I'm retired and when I think my wife is away I watch old movies....but this was an interview. All about Garner's life in film, etc. - no surprise there.

I actually met Garner once at an awards thing for Mohammad Ali held in Washington DC a while back. At the event, I sat next to Angelo Dundee, Mohamed Ali's trainer and long-time manager.

Garner sat across the isle from us and the thing I remember most about him was that he has a huge head....huge. I also got the impression he was a tad uppity. I mentioned this observation to Dundee - who replies " Well you know those pricks from Hollywood are all jerks".

Well I was damn wrong.

And I should have known better. I once was employed to teach folks how to be interviewed, which is funny in itself because I'm an awful interview....embarrassingly awful. But I learned that folks who spend that much time (45 minutes is an e t e r n i t y to be answering questions) well they can't hide. Their true self pops out and Garner's true self today - on the show - it really told me he's is a good cat....honest, funny, no bullshit.

Just the kind of guy you'd like to have a beer with.

Here is the TMC interview profile and check it out next time it's on. It's good TV.
