That would be me. I didn't run, but I lost.
Tuesday was Election Day and I once again was an Election Judge in Maryland.
Healey and I made a bet. I bet her that the other election judges that I was so disappointed with in September would be smarter after their experience in September. She said that they would not be, just as inefficient.
Well, she won. Not only did she win, I'm sure they actually got DUMBER!! How is that possible? It was like it would have been better if I had just picked up 6 year olds of the street since they didn't have school anyway and showed them the job.
I knew the end was near at 6AM when one of them said to me "Wow, you know how to properly set everything up so fast, did you just remember or did you read the manual last night?" Now, am I to assume you didn't? Since you didn't know how to last time.
It only got worse through the day. We got 2-3 times as many voters as last time, so it was busy all day. We even had lines longer at the end of the day than we had in the 2008 presidential elections. These people again didn't know how to close the polls and I had to just do it and tell the "Chief" where to sign so I could go home and not kill anybody.
I will probably do it again in 2012 because I do want to one day find a crew that is efficient and know what they're doing. I did make one friend, so we're scheming for a new assignment together in search of the dream team.
